In a few years this great old boy will be a real antique and deserves respect. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eBelow I have a few notes on the history of the Devonmoor Art Pottery where he was made.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eHeight: 15.5 cm\/6\" approximately\u003cbr\u003eWidth including handle: 16 cm\/ 6 1\/4\" approximately\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eDevonmoor Art Pottery was founded in 1912 \/1913 as Liverton Art Pottery and had two German proprietors, they employed Joe Vernon an experienced mould maker from Staffordshire. At the outbreak of WW1 the pottery was closed but in 1922 Herford Hope returned from the USA and reopened it, as Devonmoor Art Pottery.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eMuch of the early and some later output was from mould designs created by Joe Vernon at Liverton Art Pottery, including our Peter Davy Widecome Fair Jug .
