Collector’s Note

Fire & Light began in 1995 as a partnership between the Arcata Community Recycling Center and local investors. John and Natali McClurg took over the business in 1999.

Reusing things was part of everyday workshop life: old beer kegs from local breweries served as vats for cooling the glassworkers’ ladles. The studio continued making its distinctive coloured glass until production ended in 2019.
