- Mid Century Modern
‘Mid-Century Modern’ is a title to describe an iconic design movement in the post-war years of the 20th Century mainly in the 50s & 60s. Its philosophy was inherited from the Bauhaus sensibility – good design for all, and often epitomized by the clean lines of Scandinavian design.
All over the world designers were exploring new ways to use traditional materials such as wood and metal and also embracing a plethora of new materials such as plastic and perspex. The results were revolutionary.
