Above it, orange-red flowers and green leaves are painted over peach lustre, giving the decoration its warmth and depth.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eMost tellingly, there is no pouring lip. Arthur Wood borrowed the handle and familiar outline of a jug but turned it into something closer to a vase. This is an uncommon shape, the exaggerated mouth, narrow waist and rounded body make much more sense when seen as decoration rather than practical tableware. Arthur Wood borrowed the handle and familiar outline of a jug but turned it into something closer to a vase. This is an uncommon shape, the exaggerated mouth, narrow waist and rounded body make much more sense when seen as decoration rather than practical tableware.
