Its circular form is built up from overlapping lily-pad or petal shapes, with six candle sockets arranged around a central opening and a crisply modelled flower at the heart of the design.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese water-lily holders are also associated with \u003cstrong\u003ePrice’s Candles\u003c\/strong\u003e, for whom Wade produced ceramic candle accessories and presentation pieces. Small taper candles could be grouped around the flower to create a low table-centre arrangement, very much in keeping with the decorative entertaining style of the 1960s and 1970s.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere is another reason the design has endured. The pierced construction makes it equally convincing as a \u003cstrong\u003eflower frog\u003c\/strong\u003e, placed in a shallow dish or bowl.
